In the men's and women's doubles competitions, 32 teams qualify. Up to 10 places are reserved for players in the top 10 of the doubles ranking, who could select any player from their NOC ranked in the top 300. Slots were then allocated to teams with the best combined ranking until 24 teams had been qualified.
There will be 56 direct qualifications per gender in the singles competition based on the aforementioned rankings, in addition to 64 for the doubles competitions and 32 for mixed doubles. The period in which athletes can accumulate points has been extended until 7 June 2021.
Athletes ranked in the ATP and WTA doubles Top 10 on 14 June will get direct entry into the doubles event if they are nominated by their country. Those players need to be able to team up with a partner from their country ranked in the Top 300 in either singles or doubles.
